First Step:  New diagnosis, now what?

Learning that your child has been diagnosed with a disability can feel overwhelming and difficult to process. We're here to guide you through understanding the diagnosis and finding a clear path forward. We offer detailed information on government programs, funding opportunities, and available community resources. Additionally, we're here to provide personalized support and assist you with navigating the registration process for these programs, every step of the way.

A Big Step: My child is heading to school, what should I do?

Every parent feels some worry when sending their child to school, particularly when their child has unique needs.  We provide guidance on understanding the education system, as well as, offer strategies to help you advocate effectively for your child and suggestions for building a supportive 'village' that promotes your child’s success across environments.

Another Big Step: My child is getting ready for high school, how can I help?

As your child prepares for the transition to high school, we can help ease the stress and uncertainty.  Our services include suggestions for preparing for high school. We offer guidance on academics, independence, and effective advocacy, as well as support in building a strong network and setting future goals.

Stepping Beyond Childhood:
My child is / I am approaching 18 years of age (adulthood), what do we do?

Most childhood funding and programs end at 18 years of age.  It is crucial to plan early for the transition to adulthood.  As early as age 16, we can facilitate the applications for certain adulthood funding programs and ongoing Visioning for the Future goal setting and long range planning with a person-centred approach.

Stepping Into Adulthood:
My child is / I am leaving high school, how do we plan for a full life?

Whether your child plans to leave high school at age 18, carry on till age 21, and/or is already finished high school, we can provide guidance and resources every step of the way.  We can work together to create a personalized vision and plan for their future, including goals in all aspects of their life. We believe in empowering your child to take control of their future. Our person-directed approach helps them identify their passions, set meaningful goals, and develop the skills they need to achieve them.
